Here I present to you some image highlights from my long photo walk. There was a little coffee, and a bit of macro. Overall, though, I got to show a bit more of New York City through my eyes.
This year’s long photo walk took me from the Path Station at World Trade Center to Bbattery Park. Then I Traveled through the Southern Tip of Manhattan Island till I got to the Staten Island Ferry, onto South Street Sea Port, the to China Town. I made my way through Alphabet City , through St Marks , and then a nonsensical stroll to New York Penn Station to go home.
Every year I do this. I take a day off from everything to be completely alone, a social detox.
I give myself a few goals to help set my path. This year’s primary goal was to acquire a unique item to be used in sharpness test on my camera & lens reviews. (Goal achieved btw). Secondary goal was coffee breaks, having a different espresso drink at each place. (Again goal archived).

I wanted to shoot a few rolls of film, but it was too cold and awkward. I got three frames on film though. The roll, of Kodak film will be finished slowly as I get more free time. In the future I have to go out just to shoot film & make digital secondary.

I used three lenses for this walk . The Sigma 70-300mm 4-5.6 DG Macro Lens was used mostly in Battery Park, the Nikon 40mm f/2.8G AF-S DX Micr was used around the seaport, and the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8-4.5 was used for the rest of the day. Te cold made me not want to change my lens. I had my EZtagger on, at first, however, it did not like the cold and cause a drain on the D90’s battery. On my back I have my Tamrac evolution 8 along with my Black Rapid RS-7 holding the camera.
New York always offers different things to look at, it’s really hard to ever get board in this city.
And three is always something good to eat come where.
It was a good, yet cold, long day.
