Cost-Enquiry: Sony A7 Series

In careers, things shift. Needs change with experience. A new camera is needed. I have, over time, been thinking about what gear I need for my current photography life and possibly changing systems. I want my freelance life to grow as my corporate work has. The gear I own now needs and update.  Here is a basic look into my thought process for the new gear I am considering.

Yes, Yes I am looking forward to Photo Plus Expo 2016

ppe-2016-thumb-registration-is-openIts that time of the year again. Photo Plus Expo, the largest photography and imaging conference in the region, is upon us. I have attended the conference, at the Javits Convention Center, in New York, for many years now. The conference has been my best tool in making my  purchasing decisions. If I need and want new equipment, there is a great chance I will be able to test it there. I also get to enjoy the company of good people and  geek out on photography.

Here is what I am looking forward this year when I attend the Photo Plus Expo. (more…)

Meanwhile on Instagram: Smegging hell things did not go Sideways

It was a crazy week in my world. I thought it would tear me up, for a second there. Because of others indecisions, chaos was approaching. I and those I work with were preparing for the worse. In the end, though, things did not go sideways. An agreement was made and we were left with less of a mess to clean up. All this led up to some interesting camera work. You Can follow me here to see more

Sometimes you just have to be a trooper , this week is going to be proof of that. #exploringthefronteir #votesaxon #toytography #starwarsconverge #BanDai

Meanwhile on Instagram : Prepping For Things To Go Very Very Sideways

It was a busy week for me, exploring the frontier. There was more camera work than usual, lately, with a bit of travel through the New Jersey. Between press conferences and other logistic type work I was making an effort to accomplish something, anything that would make the forthcoming times just a bit easier to tolerate. With “issues” falling apart, people around me were prepping for the worse. Me I was just doing my job, but with my camera with me at all times. It’s basically all I can do at the moment before things go sideways. You Can follow me here to see more

Meanwhile on Instagram: I can’t feel my nose

It’s was, kind of, quiet for the last seven days. There was a bit of adventure, some exploring of the frontier and 25c piggie rides. Winter decided that it was not done and the cold sauntered in and laughed. This week I continued working with the Nikon D750, starting with my Nikon 35mm f2d lens then eventually moving my Nikon 35-70 f2.8d. While most people were prepping for a Hallmark holidays I just laughed and dealt with the cold as the temps dropped as the week progressed one of my major thoughts was I can’t feel My nose” . The world was on average, mellow, wondering what winter was going to throw at us next.

Nikon 85mm f1.8D: Portrait Spirit , Covert Wanderer

Post We35 I have been exploring my 85mm lens again applying what I have learned in the research project. I had to do a portrait so I pulled out my standard portrait lens, the Nikon 85mm f1.8D. It is a simple and elegant piece of glass with a storied history. When I was done I left  on and used it in my everyday photography, for a few days. The lens is not what I have become used to so it was a fun challenge. The snow that Came in helped just because it’s practical for portrait does not mean it’s not Flexible. All things considered, its was not a bad refresher.

#TheCrunch: Numbers In Action

And here it is, days after the Papal Visit. I have been debriefed, I’ve answered questions and is thought I’d share the data I collected on my work.

Papal-20150925-3209

I wish I could say it was a quiet time in the North East of the United States, however, it was not. The Popes visit to the area became a Crunch point for many people. As the head of the Catholic Church, the Pontiff has the ability to change people’s lives with a touch, and this drew, or was to suppose anyway, huge crowds. To prepare for these pilgrims, many people spent months preparing. They did good work.
