Time keeps on ticking into the future and so does new photography gear. Today I was informed of a few new products From Tamron, Panasonic, and 3 LeggedThing. Some made me curious while others had me scratching my head. Here’s a quick look at what caught my eye.
Tamron announced another version of it’s 150-600m lens. My current version of this lens, which I got last year, is still too new to replace and works very well. This lens is just a curiosity and does not have enough new features to make me want to upgrade. There are updates to the design of the lens to make it look like Tamron’s other SP lenses and improved performance, on paper at least. If I did not have a version of this lens, it would be a consideration. It is available in Nikon mounts and Canon mounts at the moment.
Panasonic announced a new camcorder the HC-X1. It has a Leica 20x Dicomar lens with a bunch of great features. Like This one will stay on my radar. I do like my current Panasonic camcorder and if my job ever gives me the budget I just may upgrade. It’s now available for preorder and I hope to check it out at PhotoPlusExpo 2016
3LeggedThing announced the launch of their Equinox Leo Switch Kit tripod & AirHed Switch ballhead, which are available from their site. The AirHed Switch is their first switch system, arca compatible clamp and I think I want it. It comes equipped with a ‘Switch’ that allows the clamp to not only become universally adjustable but can be aligned to be used left (^_^ ) or right handed.
Update I’ve been informed that ” It’ll retro fit (the switch clamp that is) to almost any ballhead and will be available in the next couple of months.” so I will be getting some updates for my tripods.
Ill post about other things that interest me as they are announced, it is the season.
