Expedition PhotoPlus Expo 2016

Expedition PhotoPlus Expo 2016

Ever since I got into my current photography life I have done one event annually, Photo Plus Expo. It has become my way of exploring the photography gear frontier. I generally go in the hopes of testing out new gear, but over time its become an expedition. I meet up with my local photog friend as well as those I only see once a year. We share, coffee, meal, and try to go on photowalks. It’s a proper photography conference.

PDN PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo is the largest photography show in the region.  The are seminars, planned photo walks and tons of exhibitors showing their latest products.  It’s always held the same time, each year. The next show will be October 26-28, 2017 at the Javits Convention Center.

I finally got to get close to the Fujifilm GFK , but could not hold it.

However I did get to get my hands on the Hasselblad X1D-50c which was nice. Very tempting.

I decided on a new camera bag the MindShift BackLight 26L It’s a rather nice bag which I can carry my daily gear in. It is actually rather brilliant.

I got to see Colby Brown speak about landscape photography

and I actually Got to meet Tamara Lackey a Nikon Ambassador.

Photo Plus Expo 2016 was a good show.  I did not do much photo walking, as I normaly do though. I did, randomly, get a little in though, as well as images from my time on the show floor.  Next years Photo Plus Expo is already on my calendar. Gear wise, I think 2016 was mostly an off year. I am still waiting for something new from Nikon. Here are my images from in and around the show.
