Well, it was a busy week that ended somberly, exploring the frontier, out here in New Jersey.
It was still spring and the weather was mostly nice. There were cloud and first, and then it mellowed out. It was nothing much to complain about.
It was also the week of the primaries, here in New Jersey. We picked our candidates, kept calm and carried on, hoping the country would still be here when the November elections rolled around.
For most of the week, I was mentally preparing for a book festival. I was hired as an event photographer. It was the second time I was covering this event and some of the details had changed but it turned out to be interesting. I spent most of the week splitting camera work between the Sony A7III and the Sony A6300. Most of my Sony lenses got a lot of use. My 35mm FE lens was the hero lens of the week.
During the whole book festival, I had one book on my mind, Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. The morning of the first day of the book festival I found out Mr. Bourdain was no longer with the world. His demons got the best of him and he took his own life. He was someone I admired. He went from chef to writer and entertainer and I followed his work for a long time. I poured one out for him.
When Everything was done, I just took a moment to decompress. Mentally and physically I am was exhausted.
As I make my way through the week, I always have my camera in hand sharing the wonders I see. Here is a bit of camera work from the week.
