I had to cook dinner so I decided on Gemelli (pasta) and a tomato sauce of my design( recipe not perfected so it does not need to seen). I had a few minutes so I decided to work on a bit of flash photography.
Using my Nikon D90 with my 50mm lens and my SB600 Flash set to 90 degrees and backwards. I did this because that last time I took a picture in this position I had a harsh shadow. (Teh Food Files: Food Photography & Pancakes) This time I eliminated it.

People have quipped that I carry Everything with me , all my photography gear. I do carry a lot, 2-3 lenses extra battery, cleaning stuff etc, everything I think I need . Well , when I was in Ellicott city, I did not think I would need… A smegging Tripod

I decided to leave the tripod in the car because I thought I was just doing an exploratory photo walk. I was checking out Historic Ellicott city for the first time. I did not expect to run across feeding butterflies. I was shocked and awed and HAPPY AS FRELL that I had my Sigma 70-300 macro lens and a Nikon SB600 flash to keep the shutter speed fast . If I had the tripod hell something tall to steady the camera on I could have gotten MUCH BETTER Shots. I got decent shots, but I know they could have been MUCH BETTER.

I think I need to annoy more people and carry my tripod more…

It was the beginning of my End of Summer time in Maryland. The weather was pleasantly warm, just as it should be. I Was keeping a relaxed pace and taking a break from the Pollution and Insanity of New Jersey. On this day, August 27 2010, after a four hour uneventful road trip, and a Barbecue with family, We took a trip to the Savage Mill. It is a complex of shops ans Restaurants’, constructed in an Old historic mill in Savage, Maryland. We were moving around the place and going nowhere and I was taking pictures of things that caught my eye in the Antiques section.

I had a few quite minutes and I was working on my travel coffee kit. It is a cloth coffee filter in a nylon tea strainer. I was Drinking Limu From BaristOnDuty You can bring that anywhere with your own coffee ground. All you need is hot water and a cup. Better to bring your own coffee than to suffer bad coffee and it’s cheaper also. The shot was quick. I just wanted to get another coffee pic with AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.4G ED Nikkor lens Time is short with it.
