#Photowandering: Out with a wide lens.

#Photowandering: Out with a wide lens.

In a time of day that knows how to keep its secrets, I wander around taking photos to relax, but not today.

Me: Photo Wandering on this day, what was I thinking.
@Juliepauly: You were not

It was a hot morning, I should have waited, but I had a task that just needed to be done. Most times, I use photo wandering to relax and find coffee. It’s good to get away from whats normal. It is a way for me to enjoy the world, around me, camera in hand, along the shores of uncertainty.

There are times I use photo wandering to also work on my craft. Recently this is why I woke, on a hot, uncomfortable morning. I needed to re-familiarize myself with my Venus Laowa 15mm f/4 Wide Angle 1:1 Macro Lens with Shift for Nikon F Mount which I adapted to my Sony cameras.

I’ve been keeping busy with crazy projects, and one of them just required a really wide lens. The camera work was in a location where things needed to move quickly. I wanted to see I could do that with the Venus Laowa 15mm f/4 photo wandering in New York was the best way to know if I needed new glass or could I work with what I had. It was a mystery.

Walking with the Venus Laowa 15mm f/4 on a Sony a7iii was awkward at first. My mind’s eye was used to working between 24mm and 75mm when out walking. With this lens, I had to alter the way I was thinking and what I was looking at.

After some time, wandering around, I realized I could work with this lens. I was able to move quickly enough with it.

For some it seems senseless , me wandering around , taking photos. It’s something I really enjoy. Here are the frames from my latest bit of photo wandering.
