Camerawork is an ever evolving craft. As I gain experience and the scope of may daily work, changes, so must what I carry in my camera bag. Recent events basically changed everything. I was put in a few situations where I was not prepared, for once. I was able to perform my job, but I could have done better. I usually try to think a few steps ahead. This is what I’m going to keep in my bag, to stay prepared.
First of all, the bag.
The bag I carry %90 percent of the time is a Think Tank Urban Disguise 60 v2 (the V3 is the current version). It has shoulder harness and a “r u hot” much for my Klean Kanteen. That has been my set up for years now. This bag and I have seen a lot together.
- Nikon 70-300 f4-5.6 because more times than not, I need extra reach. I usually get to plan when I am going to need a telephoto lens, however, I did not get to plan recently. Lesson learned.
- To keep everything steady, on short notice I will be carrying my UltraPod II tripod for now on. It works in a pinch when I need to steady the gear I use. It’s also small and stays out the way.
- A simple wired remote it just helps some times
- An Anker battery. I tend to have to keep my phone charged on long days as well as others.
