I have a belief that you have to try almost everything once to see what you want to try again. In the photography world, one of the best places to do that is the Test Drive at photo plus expo. The new product preview and networking event gives me a great head start in finding the gear I really want to check out at the show. It’s how I learned about a lot of gear I use in my photography. Here’s what I found this year….
The BenQ PV3200PT
Having a good monitor is a must when working with visual mediums. Rarely Does one catch my eye, but the BenQ PV3200 was fascinating. It’s a 32 inch 4K UHD LCD monitor with stunning colors. It comes with a hood as well. It may seem a bit costly at $1299 but if you have to look at a screen a lot, you may not think so. There is also a 27 in version sans 4k at 599
I will be checking this out some more
Another thing that can’t my eye was a magnetically connected editing tool. With modular Sliders dials and buttons , the Palettegear looks like it makes the editing process a bit more interesting. It connects via USB and had Adobe CC support. This is something I may have to add to my work flow.
Think Tank Airport Advantage
Very rarely does a camera bag give me gear lust, but the Airport Advantage did. It’s slim and great for travel on trains and planes. I looked at the specs before but seeing it in person basically had me sold. It’s not heavy and easy to organize. The ThinkTank Airport Advantage is on my wish list. I have idea, or three for it.
