It was a noisy time , one town over from where live. It was Maplestock a local weekend long concert that doubles as a community building event. You go out, eat food, listen to music and eat food with the town. Kids run around and have fun and generally all is well.
It was basically a lot of fun and I had my camera out for the sake of fun.
I like to use this concert as a ways to work out some ideas for my personal photography. Maplestock is an excellent place to polish skills. They have their own excellent event photographer at the event so no o e is asking me for photos. This weekend I worked with the Sony A7 with its grip. The first day I used my Nikon 80-200 f4.5. The Second I used my Nikon 24mm 2.8
The Nikon 80-200 f4.5 was excellent on the Sony A7 with the Metabones adapter. It’s a great size for the camera. I got some cool moments. The scary thing is I don’t miss my D700 too much for this type of work. With the Grip the A7 works out really well.
The Nikon 24mm 2.8 worked great as well. At Maplestock you could move freely so I was able to walk right up to the stage and compose my shot. While most people used zooms a 24mm prime gave me the ability to get much diffrent shots.
Overall I got a lot of great practice for my event photography and concert photography at Maplestock. I shared most of my favorite images of the day on Instagram. The experience was was pleasent. They are going to need a bigger park next year.
So long take good photos , keep in touch.
