For a while, I have been trying to decide on a new camera, the struggle has been real. Instead of continuing along that uneasy path, not one company has made me want to spend money yet, I’ve decided to explore some new ideas. It happens to be the perfect time for this, it is time for PhotoPlus Expo. Looks like it’s a good show lined up. It has been an interesting year in the photography world.
There have a been a few things I have wanted to learn and try to improve my photography. PhotoPlus the largest photography and imaging show in North America is the perfect place for it. For years now you could find me there exploring the photography world, learning new things, and exploring new gear. Here are the things I am looking forward to at 2017’s expo
Finding a Printer.
One of the things I want to do is finally start printing my work. I have already checked White House Custom Color and joined, but I want to print my own work. I will be looking for a printer and Epson is at the top of my list.
A portable storage solution
My job has me traveling a lot, around different locations. To save my back, traveling without a laptop, I want something to carry my Lightroom catalogs on and edit if I have to. At this moment Gnarbox is at the top of my list.
This light kit had been on my mind since I first learned about it. Spekular is described as “a light that reshapes itself to your needs.” If it lives up to that claim I may have to add it to my wish list.
While I did say I paused my search, it’s still good to get my hands on all the cameras I am thinking about. he mirrorless camera field continues to grow, DSLRs are still great tools. PhotoPlus expo makes that possible. Through the course of the show, it’s easy to pick up the gear, try it out and talk to someone about its features.
Meeting up with friends
Something I enjoy at PhotoPlus is meeting up with friends. It’s fun to bounce my ideas off them and find some new ones. Photo Plus is one of the best photography meet ups I can think of. Some people I know, online, I only see in person there.
