When first got into digital photography, I was sort of astonished at the options in front of me. I made my choice but I eventually thought up a dream camera. I basically wanted a film camera, like my Nikon FG with a digital sensor. Basically, I wanted a mostly manual camera with a light meter. A Leica M was recommended but I am not made of money. Recently, however, I found out(Thanks PhotoRumors) a possible camera of my dreams may be in the works, the Konost Digital RangeFinder.
Originally I thought the Konost was just, going to be vaporware, a great idea, that just faded away. Lately, they have been making a bit of noise again and it seems the camera is back on the radar. So far this camera is a minimalist rangefinder with a simple design, using M Mount lenses. I hope it is released one day. Konost says it will be available around “Q3-Q4 of 2017”
Not sure how much it will cost.
From what I have read, so far, nothing is finalized with the camera yet. I have high hopes for this camera. The only reason I am showing interest is because it is a good concept. I believe simplicity can be the best tool in photography. I don’t expect to be a Leica, but I hope its and affordable full frame rangefinder that I can use as a daily camera. Konost says “it will be very competitively priced among digital full-frame cameras.”
The Konost is something I am looking forward to in 2017. It may just be the minimalist camera I have been wanting all these years.
