Science fiction isn’t just for books and movies anymore. Authors are now writing SF stories designed for Twitter on an online magazine called Thaumatrope. I discovered it via this blog. Amazingly, it also pays its writers, although it is currently closed for submissions. Could you write a story in 140 characters or less?

The wait is over. Cricket Hill has released its Paymaster’s Porter seasonal ale. It is a magnificent dark brown ale with major coffee flavors but no burnt aftertaste. The background is slightly chocolate with wonderful candied undertones! It finishes with a marvelous mixture of chocolate and coffee. An un-filtered beer that lives up to the gentle session beer reputation that Cricket Hill has become well known for.

I will say 2008 was the year I was truly introduced to craft beer, and developed a real appreciation for it. Thanks to BeerUtopia and all the fine people and idea’s they introduce me to on and off line, my beer know has grown exponentially. Thanks to everyone who helped toward my Beerducation,

We are not the harbingers of truth as some may suggest but it may indeed be argued that our brewing philosophy is tantamount to a dessert with a bellicose past. How, you may ask, would a brewery determine a likeness to hard-coated custard? Our response is simple; it’s all in the power of history, and of course, the extra finesse needed to top off a contentious treat with definition.
By comprehending the labyrinthine movement of time, one would not think it strange to trace the errant path of an ordinary object such as a cream dessert only to discover that it has been the cause of cultural disputes since the middle ages. The British founders of burnt cream and from Spain, crema catalana, both stand by their creative originality and we respect that, but it was the French Crème Brûlée, amid the strife of contention, that survived to represent our deliciously creamy brew.

The process of brewing coffee is a good way to relate the brewing process to people who do not understand zymurgy, the technical term for making beer. With familiar kitchen equipment, you can repeat the steps of the process that goes on in breweries large and small-and make a very small batch of beer.
