The #we35 Groot Accord part 2 -Seemingly Never Ending winter

The snow ice is starting to make things a little crazy. We expected a little better weather by now , but alas the snow has remained. So February’s Groot Accord barely made it.   This is the second of a series of Groot Toy photography surveys at 35 mm between Chris Nitz and myself for the We35 research project. While we are not suffering like Boston . We do want some melting action. Winters been a rough season, and does not seem to want to end. Groot in the snow , alone seemed fitting , none of the other trees are wake yet.

You need the right tools to catch frames of unicorns and dragons and their environments #we35

The great thing about the we35 project is seeing how it affects my photography. I have to let working with a 35 mm lens, most of the time, live with my normal photography working life. I find my self weaving my creative photography life with my working life. I thought I would have to take a break from we35 project to learn a new lens. It is a tamron 150-600. I ended up, rediscovering working with two cameras again. It dawned on me that, I might just have a perfect combo to take out during my camera work.

My ‪#‎we35‬ February Expedition Contact Sheet and What It Taught Me

Experiment “February is a month of cautious optimism” like shooting a roll of film.  It made it a great time for this months we35’s expedition. We were to head out, limited to only 36 images , and share, some details of our daily lives. Originally I was going to use a film camera. There was some equipment failure, though I opted for the digital approach. I used a fixed ISO and White  Balance and shot in black and white. It was a great learning experience.

A bit of cold weather #photowandering (#we35)

Experiment Hello and welcome. It’s was a cold cold day in my part of NJ. The area was doing its best impression of the Arctic Tundra. In what could be considered stupidity I decided to do a little photowandering. Some we35 research to pass the time (I needed to get out the house).A quick walk in the forest with just a 35mm lens in a unknown environment was ideal.Well unknown in this type of weather. I usually walk the local trails in the spring & summer, never the winter.

Aesthetic Changes #we35

It’s been a interesting time exploring the frontier. It’s been cold and the snowy frozen winter smeg decided not to melt . But life has to kept going , no use in complaining. With the current change in career my bride thought it would be a good idea if I upgraded my ascetic a little. Less I.T. Crowd and more Dr Who in the way I dressed. With that logic I was defeated. So in the cold I treked to Isaiah Hemmingway shop and got fitted for a jacket . It was an excellent time for some we35 research.
