The #we35 Groot Accord part 1 The Studioish Toy Shot

And here it is the January entry for the Groot Accord. This is the first of a series of Groot Toy photography surveys at 35 mm between Chris Nitz and myself for the We35 research project. Toy photography at 35 mm is and interesting prospect. For my first entry I decided to alpha test another project I’ve been working on a cube studio. I used my new lights for the first time to light Groot.

There was No #Snowmaggedon here… Move Along #we35 sort of

It was not a historic day as forecasted here in New Jersey. We did not get the dramatic amounts of snow we prepared greatly for. I was hoping to go out and do some insane we35 research, but no, I was called into work to show how things were quickly recovering from the minor snow storm we ended up with. There was no actual research done however I only used a 35mm lens today.

The Day Before the Forecasted #Snowmaggedon #We35 Field Report

(null)
Well it was the day before the Snowpocalypse of 2015 and a great day for we35 research. The north east was bracing itself for the bad weather , influx of social media photos, and bad weather puns. I was doing some work for my job which took me out for a bit of a walk. I decided to go with a simple kit. I did not carry a lot of gear either. I was out to catch snow prep but by the time I got out it was done. It did not stop me from getting some frames though. (more…)

Another Smegging Local Snow Protocol #we35

Well.. It snowed again. Luckily it was on a Saturday Morning and not too bad. About four inches fell in my area. It was an easy shovel , nothing really to complain about. The kids and I got dressed , went out and got to work. The snow was wet but not too heavy and easily moved. It was quiet , an occasional car going by. It is something that a simple camera with a 35mm lens is the right tool for. (more…)

#We35 Impromptu #PhotoWandering

I had some plans but magically they got canceled and I got some free time. So I took the free time and did some impromptu photo wandering. It’s been a while since I could just spend some time wondering New York City. It was a great time to continue minimalist photography experiment.

Location Hoboken New Jersey along the Water Front.
Instruments Sony a7 with a 35mm 2.8 Fe Nitz Strap & IPhone
Findings It was a quiet morning out here Exploring The Frontier. I was in Hoboken on a photowalk. Along with a few members from the NJ photography adventure club , I walked the Hoboken River Front taking pictures of the environment as minimalist as possible. Working with nothing else but the Sony A7 and a 35 mm lens , no filters , tripods or anything else was freeing. Not once did I worry about stopping to set up a tripod to get a shot or fiddle with setting to get a specific exposure. I set the camera to f22 because it was that bright out and just enjoyed the moment. It was a cold but enjoyable time fueled by coffee.
